The descriptions of the magical fight’s were some of my all time favourite scenes to read, incredibly atmospheric and added a tension to an already tense and battle filled book. The magic is big scale, there are hoards of demons with magic wielders of their own and they have come to Tarkosi’s world to harvest their shit because their world is dying. Trapped with no one to believe her, Kaleah is forced to confront the man who wants her dead, but as she gets to know him, the truth about Lilitha comes to light and secrets begin to unravel. Kidnapped by the blind beggar Pel, who has an addictive affinity for the drug known as urka seeds, Tarko finds himself swept up in the war party’s caravan.

My one major gripe with this novel is that it's marketed as progression fantasy, and feel free to disagree, but this is NOT progression fantasy.

I don't care about the angst caused by his fellow man, because from what I see so far, the protag will be a doormat character. The skin is Flesh-tearer Contrast Red over the Halfords red primer and highlighted with a Mephiston Red and Flesh-tearer Contrast mix. Together, the believers and Tarko (with his unhappy and insulting passenger) race back to Shal Gara to tell the truth of what is happening at the forest’s edge.

Locked in a vicious cycle of love and deceit, Kaleah begins to question everything she thought she knew. Demon’s Reign is an enthralling, sprawling fantasy with interesting world-building and very fun characters. Rawlish, his love interest, was an obvious love interest from the start (in that he was clearly crushing on her the moment he met her but won’t admit it to himself, and she has no idea what she sees in him at first) but I adored their cute little side plot. HDD Artists include Beliefs, Breeze, Chastity, Deliluh, Etiquette, Fake Palms, No Joy, Ora Cogan, Praises, Prince Josh, Sahara, Tallies, Tess Parks, Vallens, Young Guv and more. I think there’s a rule that if a demon keeps on killing Leaders in-game that he should become your leader, but there’s no immediately prepared sheet to record the progress.I was planning to paint more Beastmen to take me up to 10 models, not being careful to see what my opening 100 points would look like.
