About this deal

From the start, I found it difficult to relate to them, because their nature is so far removed from my own. Herbert's scheming, backstabbing villain, the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, would be perfectly at home among the Lannisters of Westeros.

It is a universe of ‘traps within traps’, of human computers, secretive witch-cults and fanatic warriors, all with their own intricate histories and intentions. Mary Shelley's darkly disturbing tale is illustrated by Angela Barrett and newly introduced by Richard Holmes. His struggle is at the center of a nexus of powerful people and events, and the repercussions will be felt throughout the Imperium.

Dune is a deep and complex novel that takes in ecology, environmentalism, religion and the misuse of power and destiny. This collector’s edition of Frank Herbert’s phenomenal tale of far-future desert warriors, fallible messiahs and interplanetary intrigue is illustrated by award-winning artist Sam Weber, and published to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the world’s best-selling science-fiction title.

Others in Leto’s close circle of advisors include the logical, Mr Spock-like ‘Mentat’ and assassin Thufir Hawat, the troubadour swordmaster Gurney Halleck, and the sensitive Dr Wellington Yueh. Nombre de page(s) : - Poids : 400g - Genre : Fiction (hors poche) : romans, théâtre, poésie, humour. We would love to if we could and we feel your pain about the fact that your books won’t match (seriously) but unfortunately, we do not own the rights to do so. Before The Matrix, before Star Wars, before Ender's Game and Neuromancer, the was Dune - the greatest science fiction novel ever written. Of course this meant that it wouldn’t match the existing covers of the other five of Herbert’s Dune books, but I was hoping they’d redo the others as well. We take pride in offering a wide selection of used books, from classics to hidden gems, ensuring theres something for every literary palate. but the story line is not the same fast paced action and eventual results you hope for for the main character Paul.

Within a day his young son is nearly assassinated in his bed and there is a prophecy of something great coming. Seamus Heaney’s deeply felt interpretation, widely acknowledged as the greatest Beowulf translation of modern times, is presented in parallel with the Old English verse in this fabulous Folio edition. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins.I haven't yet got the courage to read the third from fear of other reviews i should probably ignore. Spicy detail (yes, pun very much intended): the Harkonnen Baron has already set in motion an intricate plot to bring about the downfall of the entire Atreides family.
