Winning Moves kindly sent me a game to review. And I promised to play it with my little girl as soon as it arrived. If neither pig is lying on its side, the score is the sum of the individual positions. What Does The Game Consist Of? This section is going to be very short because playing Pass the Pigs: Big Pigs doesn’t require much explanation.

Pass the Pigs: Big Pigs deliver pure, simple entertainment. Its nostalgic charm makes it a game we recommend playing again and again. It is also incredibly engaging for children, testing their risk-taking abilities, and its portability makes it suitable for various settings. Due to its small size and portability, it made the perfect travel game. (And thus it was played lots on school trips as I was growing up.) I have very fond memories of playing very competitive games in the common rooms of my school.

Is There Any Other Version Of The Game?

Each turn involves one player throwing two model pigs, each of which has a dot on one side. The player gains or loses points, or is eliminated from the game based on the way the pigs land. Each turn lasts until the player throwing either rolls the pigs in a way that wipes out their current turn score, wipes out their total game score, or decides to stop their turn, add their turn score to their total score and pass the pigs to the next player. The winner is the first player to reach a predetermined total score, usually 100 points. We didn’t get this reaction with the original Pass the Pigs game. But now that we’ve got stress-ball type pigs to toss, we’re throwing pigs a lot more. The game also comes with a score pad, which has the very simple rules printed on the front. As I said before, it is such an easy game to play.

Both Pass the Pigs and Pass the Pigs: Big Pigs make it easy to know how the pigs score points by providing a visual reference to the possible results. The dot on the right side of each pig also make it easy to spot positions. As with the small travel set, I have no hesitation in recommending this game to everyone. I know that this will be a family favourite for years to come, and cannot wait to play it with some of my other friends and family. Why not try it too? But with this newer version, possibilities are endless! Take it to your pool party and play it outside. Or maybe in a mud room or just on the kitchen floor! It is a totally new experience and pure fun! What Age Is The Game Suited For? It brought a whole new level of fun and laughter to the game. A Leaning Jowler on the kitchen floor! Yet we worry about the durability of the big pigs. We’ve had plenty of foam stress-balls that lose a chunk out of them here and there. And we worry these big pigs may suffer the same fate eventually. But maybe that’s more due to our vigorous throwing them around the house.

Final Thoughts

If you are one of the few people, who haven’t played this game, brace yourselves, as Pass The Pigs is now making everyone throw oversized stuffed pigs for points! Watch out for bigger laughs and larger-than-life excitement with your family and friends at a party. However, so far, our pigs have gone unscathed. Sure they’re getting dirty. But they’re still all intact. Will the foam pigs last forever like the classic plastic pigs? Pass The Pig’s rules and regulations are ridiculously simple and straightforward, so unboxing the game is not a very thrilling experience. But the game is super compact and travel-friendly.

Regardless of whether you’ve felt that urge or not, you and your family can enjoy throwing foam pigs around in Pass the Pigs: Big Pigs! Fantastic fun for the whole family, Pass the Pigs is so easy to play. Simply throw the 2 piggies up in the air and see how they land. Compare the pigs landing positions with your scorecard and earn points, the first to 100 wins. It really is such a hilarious game that everyone can get involved in. And yes, giant pigs just make it so much better for parties and get togethers. Once we can get together, that is.

A lot of games are a little too old for my 4 year old. But when I found out that there was a new variation of one of the favourite games from my youth I was so excited to be able to share it with you. One of the games I remember from childhood is Pass the Pigs, and yet I realised the other week it’s not something I’ve ever played with the children. It’s time to put that right and there’s no better time as the iconic game has gone up a notch. Makin' Bacon (or Oinker) - Both pigs are touching and both are resting on the table - Player's total score from the game is wiped out; play passes to next player. Every successful toss will earn points you can store in your piggy bank. However, if you push the piggies too far, you will ‘pig out.’ Winning is simple – the first player to reach 100 points wins.
