Faith points can be subtracted so that friendly NOVITIATE operatives can perform Acts of Faith listed below. Each Act of Faith will specify when it can be used, its effect and how many Faith points you must subtract from your total to use it. If you cannot subtract the required Faith points from your total, you cannot use that Act of Faith.

There are a number of effects (8 total) but Faithful Blessing will likely be the most ubiquitous of these, giving you a re-roll when you fight in combat or shoot, and can be used more than once per activation. Guiding Light lets you spend 2 faith points to retain a failed hit as a normal successful hit when fighting or shooting, and Vengeful Strike lets you spend 3 faith points to convert a normal hit into a critical hit. Tac Ops Novitiates have some rather nice pieces of equipment, as well as the standard grenades. Most of it’s pretty expensive from an EP standpoint. Novitiates come with a strong set of useful equipment, so strong in fact, that one item in particular was so good that it amounted to a team-wide reroll 1s to hit ability. This item had its cost doubled in a balance data-slate, but is that enough to give the rest of the inventory a chance to shine? I decided to put these two together because they basically go hand in hand. As I mentioned a majority of your operatives having auto pistols is the closest thing to a major hindrance this team has, and these two ploys combined is basically the equivalent of giving everyone a boltgun for the Turning Point. In the case of Eyes it also allows your Superior’s Plasma Pistol to be fired without range limitation. Obviously the downside here is having spend 2 CP per Turning Point you wish to employ these ploys in conjunction, but thanks to the extra CP of the new Critical Ops, AND your ability to lean on AoF for things like Command Re-Rolls you should be able to conserve your CP for the appropriate moment to maximize either of these ploys. B The Novitiate Purgatus and the Novitiate Preceptor have the special Inferno rule on their weapons, which lets you add Inferno tokens to an enemy target after scoring any critical hits against it. For each of these tokens, you can then roll a dice for a chance to cause mortal wounds to it. The weapons with this rule start out with an Inferno 1 rule, which means they can add 1 token to a target on a critical hit, but the Tactical Ploy Burning Wrath can upgrades the Purgatus’ weapon to Inferno 2 for a chance of twice the amount of tokens. Acts of FaithFamiliarise yourself with how they work, maximise how many you generate by including the Pronatus and carefully selecting your equipment, and have your key combos ready. This makes the Preceptor a great candidate for leading a melee-focused squad into combat, swinging its mace and singing hymns to inspire its comrades. Novitiate Condemnor (1 allowed per Kill Team) Removes the Range from autopistols, plasma pistols and bolt pistols of friendly operatives for 1 Turning Point, giving them infinite range. Sanctified Rounds Finally, there are also bespoke ploys to help you demonstrate your devotion to the Emperor even harder. We’ve chosen a couple of especially fervent examples – Glorious Martyrdom lets you hurt yourself in exchange for extra faith points, while Aegis of the Emperor lets you hurt perfidious psykers just by closing your eyes and thinking really, really hard about how much you love Him. Acts of Faith work like CP, with their own little list of ploys that they can be spent on. You get three at the start of each turn, and can save them, but in a four turn game you get twelve points to spend. However there are ways to boost the number of faith points you have, through the Pronatus or the Glorious Martyrdom tactical ploy or some of the equipment choices.

If you want to see what it’s like to fight as a member of the Adepta Sororitas, add the VR game Battle Sister to your wishlist on Steam. Along with this magnificent boxed set, you can also get dice sets for the two kill teams. Surely, the Chaos/Aeldari gods (delete as appropriate) will smile upon your rolls if you’re using the correct dice? The Corsairs dice have the symbol of the Eldritch Raiders on the ‘6’ ( Prince Yriel ’s buddies) while the Chaos Space Marines feature a Legionary helmet.

As there are enough specialists to completely fill the kill team, you won’t be using or seeing a lot of miliants, but they are like if guard had a better save and were really stabby. Novitiate Penitent Reveal it when a friendly model is incapacitated within 2” of an objective marker, the next two times a friendly model is incapacitated within 2” of that objective marker, score a VP. Lets one friendly operative close to each objective marker on the battlefield a free Shoot action and (not “or”, it seems) a free Fight action. Tactical Ploys Glorious Martyrdom Enemy operatives within ⬟ suffer 1 mortal wound each time they perform a Psychic Action. This falls into the niche category, and even then it is of questionable use against the few teams that have access to Psychic powers. D
